If I Think of Germany at Night
A portrait of the Berlin techno scene and its main icons.
From the musical perspective, Germany has given the world more than just inspiration for the fundamental albums of David Bowie, Iggy Pop or Nick Cave. Berlin today has become a synonym for techno and director Romuald Karmakar has mapped out the entire scene and its evolution in detail with the help of some singular DJs like Ricardo Villalobos, Roman Flugel, Sonja Moonear, Ata, or David Moufan (aka Move D). In search of its roots, he goes back to the 90s yet does not neglect to display its modern face. A detailed report on the current state of techno in Berlin.
